ACHE M.A.P. Program: CoHS
In Spring 2023, the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE) College of Health Science Admissions Department, School of Occupational Therapy (ACHE OT), and School of Physical Therapy (ACHE PT) collaborated to establish the ACHE Mentoring and Achievement Preparation (M.A.P.) Program. This program aims to educate, encourage, equip, and engage diverse students from underrepresented/underserved populations who are considering careers in occupational therapy or physical therapy to positively impact the lives of underserved communities and help reduce health disparities. ACHE M.A.P. welcomed its inaugural cohort in June 2023 and continues to grow and thrive. Of the 2024 cohort, 40% matriculated into ACHE programs.
After the three day on-campus immersive program, participants receive mentorship from program faculty members and currently enrolled students in the ACHE OT and/or ACHE PT programs. Participants will also receive regular invitations from ACHE College of Health Sciences Admissions to participate in future admissions-related workshops and events to enhance their knowledge, personal development, and future applications to ACHE OT and PT professional programs.
